TURKDENTALINDEX / EDITORIAL STANDARDS

How We Rate Dental Clinics in Turkey

Our rating framework is designed to help international patients compare dental providers through consistent questions and documented evidence. A clinic's position in our editorial selection is not determined by its rating score.

Six criteria, one score out of 10

Each criterion is scored on a scale of 0–10 when adequate evidence is available. The overall editorial score is the weighted sum of the six criterion scores, rounded to one decimal place.

CriterionWeightEvidence considered
Clinical Expertise25%Qualifications, named treatment professionals, relevant clinical experience and specialist supervision.
Patient Safety20%Applicable facility authorizations, infection prevention, clinical assessment and documented emergency procedures.
Materials & Technology20%Materials and implant traceability, diagnostic technology and evidence that equipment is suited to the treatment offered.
Patient Reputation15%Independent patient-feedback sources, number and recency of reviews, repeated themes and limitations of public feedback.
Transparency & Pricing10%Clarity of treatment scope, itemized quotations, inclusions, exclusions, consent and cancellation terms.
Aftercare & Support10%Written follow-up plans, management of complications, contact arrangements and cross-border continuity of care.

Evidence Standards and Assessment Status

Our assessments are based on documented evidence, including official healthcare registers, published professional credentials, clinic documentation, treatment policies and independent patient feedback. Each review records the available sources, relevant limitations and the assessment date.

Assessment Pending

This status indicates that the clinic has not yet undergone a sufficiently complete editorial assessment. No numerical score is published at this stage. Pending status should not be interpreted as a negative judgment about the clinic.

Provisional Editorial Assessment

A provisional assessment indicates that all six criteria have received preliminary editorial scores based on available information, but some documentary verification steps remain incomplete. The numerical rating may be displayed, clearly identified as provisional, without the TurkDentalIndex Verified designation.

TurkDentalIndex Verified™

TurkDentalIndex Verified™ is an editorial designation awarded when our team has completed and documented its review of the six assessment criteria.

The review considers official healthcare facility registrations, publicly available professional information, treatment documentation, independent patient feedback, pricing transparency and aftercare arrangements.

Additional international certifications, such as ISO or JCI accreditation, are not mandatory requirements for this editorial designation. However, any such certifications presented as independently confirmed must be supported by appropriate documentation.

TurkDentalIndex Verified™ is not a government authorization, independent medical accreditation, on-site clinical inspection or guarantee of treatment outcomes.

Publication policy: A numerical rating is displayed only when all six criterion scores have been assigned using available documentary evidence. Verified status additionally requires completion of the editorial review, supporting documentation and a recorded review date. Ratings may be updated when new evidence becomes available.

How individual scores are assigned

For each criterion, reviewers should document the relevant facts, distinguish independently verified material from clinic self-description and record any limitations. The assessment uses a common anchored scale:

BandInterpretation
9.0–10.0Strong, current and corroborated evidence across the criterion's core requirements.
8.0–8.9Good evidence with limited minor gaps.
7.0–7.9Generally positive evidence with some material areas requiring clarification.
6.0–6.9Partial evidence or significant limitations.
0.0–5.9Substantial documented shortcomings against the published criterion, when reliable evidence supports an evaluation.

These bands are a general guide; the detailed evidence for each criterion should be recorded separately. Missing evidence is not automatically equivalent to poor clinical quality. If evidence is insufficient, an assessment remains pending.

Ordering, independence and limitations

The clinic numbers on the homepage identify a curated editorial selection. They are not an automatically calculated score ranking, and a clinic in position 10 can receive a higher published score than a clinic in position 1. The score is an editorial assessment, separate from star ratings submitted by patients.

Ratings are snapshots of the evidence available on the review date and may change after new information becomes available. A high score does not establish treatment suitability for any individual patient. Always obtain an individualized examination, discuss risks and alternatives with a qualified dentist, and request a written quote and aftercare terms.

Any future commercial relationships, paid placements or clinic submissions should be disclosed clearly and kept separate from the scoring process. The methodology must not be used to imply independent verification unless the relevant checks have actually taken place.

Rating Reviews and Updates

TurkDentalIndex ratings reflect the documentary evidence available at the time of each editorial assessment. We aim to review published ratings at least once every 12 months and may update them earlier when significant new information becomes available.

Relevant changes may include updates to healthcare facility authorizations, professional credentials, accreditation status, treatment policies, patient feedback, pricing transparency or aftercare arrangements.

An updated review may result in a higher or lower score, a change in verification status, or the temporary withdrawal of a published rating if essential information can no longer be confirmed.

Corrections and Right of Reply

Dental clinics, healthcare professionals and readers may contact TurkDentalIndex to report factual inaccuracies, outdated information or relevant documentary evidence.

Submissions are evaluated against the same editorial criteria applied to all providers. Where a correction is justified, we aim to update the relevant information and record significant changes to our assessments.

To request a factual correction or submit supporting documentation, contact: info@turkdentalindex.com .

Editorial Selection and Commercial Transparency

TurkDentalIndex operates two distinct systems: an editorial selection of dental providers and a separate evidence-based rating methodology.

The order in which clinics appear may be influenced by editorial considerations, content collaborations and commercial placement arrangements. Therefore, a higher position does not necessarily indicate a higher rating or superior clinical quality.

TurkDentalIndex Ratings are calculated using six weighted evaluation criteria. Editorial or commercial placement arrangements do not influence these scores, the evidence requirements or the award of TurkDentalIndex Verified™.

Where a specific placement is sponsored or involves compensation, it will be clearly identified as promotional content. Sponsored placement does not constitute medical accreditation or an endorsement of treatment outcomes.

Scope of Documentary Verification

TurkDentalIndex conducts documentary editorial assessments using available institutional, professional and public information.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, our reviews do not include on-site inspections, direct observation of clinical procedures, examination of confidential patient records or independent testing of dental materials.

A TurkDentalIndex Verified™ designation confirms completion of our editorial evidence-review process. It does not replace an individual clinical assessment or official healthcare regulatory supervision.
